CLAIMS ADJUSTER

Position with the Texas Association of Counties is available to assist Texas counties with management of Property Damage, Auto Physical Damage, and Crime Coverage claims.  Assign claims to outside independent claims appraisers as necessary; and monitor and supervise activity of assigned independent adjusters.  Review and explain applicable coverage to Members.

Broad knowledge of multi-line insurance claims adjusting methods is essential.   Applicants should have superior human relations and professional communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to work with individuals with a wide variety of cultural and economic backgrounds. Also requires good problem solving skills.

Position requires knowledge of claims processes to receive, assign claims and direct claims professionals; supervise work of independent adjusters and appraisers; determine coverage; settle claims; negotiate salvage; and pursue subrogation where appropriate. Responsibility for monthly activity and claims reports to departmental management identifying problem areas and/or Members’ concerns; identify problems and concerns to the Pool’s Reinsurer; and comply with reporting requirements to the Pool’s Reinsurer.

Applicants must have three to five years experience and a bachelor’s degree is preferred.  A general knowledge of construction and specialized training in adjusting property claims is desired. 08/All Lines Adjuster’s License is required.

INFORMATION SYSTEMS SPECIALIST

The Texas Association of Counties has a position opening for an Information System Specialist to support the Field Services staff operations through development of software and other technology needs to enhance business processes.

Duties include creation of reports, data analysis, data system administration/ maintenance, system documentation, data quality initiatives, training, assistance with database administration, and service on various organizational software and data project teams.

Experience must include work in a .NET environment with direct experience in SQL based applications, including SSRS. Candidate must also have programming skills in C# for web (or related language). Prefer experience using IronSpeed and a background in database administration.

Applicants should have good human relations and professional communication skills and ability to work with individuals with a wide variety of skills and experience.

Initial salary is dependent on experience and qualifications and ranges up to $60K plus outstanding health and retirement benefits.

BUSINESS INFORMATION ANALYST

Assist the self-insurance Program Administration department and Business Information Manager with the improvement of business processes, creation of reports, development and implementation of software developed to run operational business processes efficiently. Assist in the development and maintenance of databases to ensure proper underwriting and financial reporting for self-insured programs as needed.

Starting salary, $45K, depends on experience
