What is the best way to request changes to my coverage?
You can fax requests for changes to (512) 478-1426 or
e-mail TACpools@county.org.

Can we cover property not owned by the county on the county's property policy with TAC?
Yes, as long as the property is reported in writing to TAC before a loss, it can be covered.

What does equipment breakdown cover?
Equipment Breakdown was formerly called Boiler & Machinery. Now this coverage has been expanded to include all types of equipment and machinery used to operate a building, such as air conditioning units, electrical boxes, boilers, hot water heaters and jail lockdown systems.

What is the Garage Keepers coverage under property?
Garage keepers provides coverage for damage to confiscated or impounded vehicles with a $25,000 per location limit at no additional cost to TAC property members. Higher limits can be purchased.

Is it necessary to purchase Electronic Data Processing coverage for our computers?
Computers are covered the same as other contents at each location.

Does TAC cover terrorism?
Yes, limited terrorism coverage is provided under TAC's property program where it was formerly excluded. Other TAC coverages have never excluded terrorism.

What is covered by the Crime policy?
The Crime policy offers five coverages: Employee Dishonesty, Forgery, Theft Disappearance and Destruction of Money and Securities, Robbery and Safe Burglary and Counterfeit Currency.

Does this policy cover theft of cash from a messenger, both inside and outside the county premises?
Yes, Theft Disappearance and Destruction of Money and Securities includes coverage for losses both inside and outside county premises.

What is meant by dual control of money handling functions and why is that important to the county?
Dual control means more than one person is keeping ledgers, handling accounts, signing checks, etc. It is important to be sure that no one person has complete control of financial transactions to prevent theft or embezzlement.

Can Crime coverage be used instead of bonds?
If a county official is required by law to have a bond, then the crime coverage cannot be substituted. If there is no legal requirement to have a bond, then in some cases, the crime coverage might be used instead of a bond.

Does TAC offer bonds?
No.
