Workers' Compensation FAQ

Why aren't eyeglasses covered by workers compensation when an employee breaks them on the job?
Under a narrow set of circumstances, they can be covered. However, a workers compensation claim cannot be based on property damage alone.

How does an employer determine if a report of injury by an employee is legitimate, or compensable?
The employer should not attempt to determine compensability, but report the injury as alleged by their employee and let the carrier make that determination.

Can we cover our volunteer fireman and law enforcement officers?
Yes, you can!

Are our elected officials covered by the county's WC policy?
Not unless your county has opted to add that additional coverage.

Do we have to cover adult probation officers on our Wokers Compensation?
No, they are state employees and covered by the state's WC policy.
