Overview
For county government to function effectively and efficiently it must build bridges of communications: bridges between supervisors and staff, bridges between one county office and another, and bridges between county government and the public. The leadership and management skills taught at this year’s County Management Institute will have a positive impact on the way the courthouse works.
The 2007 County Management Institute is essential for county officials, managers and key staff. Experienced business and government leaders will address in-depth issues vital to successful county operations. Attendees will return to their counties with better supervisory skills, new team-building techniques, and cost-saving risk management, health care and unemployment tools.
Keynote Speakers

Internationally known keynote speakers are sure to provide entertainment, inspiration and enthusiasm. Suzie Humphreys is a well-known motivational and inspirational humorist. Suzie is surviving all the traumas of life by "Looking for the Laughter."

Kay Christopher, a former psychotherapist and a professional development coach, will be speaking on "Clearer Thinking: Focusing the Power of Your Mind." She teaches that the "mind is a powerhouse," and her seminar will help the audience learn to focus their attention, think logically and pay better attention to detail.

Dr. Patrick Sherman will speak on "Creating Passion and Soul in the Workplace." He will address the challenges of getting the most out of staff members and working with other elected officials, all with differing expectations.
TAC Training Consultant, Mark Warren closes the conference with a stirring "What You Are is Where You Were When—Again." Mark will present native Texas Dr. Morris Massey on DVD in an updated presentation of his award-winning value system theory on human behavior. Dr. Massey explains generational differences using real-life examples mixed with humor.
