Overview
The Fall & Spring Sessions of the Texas Judicial Academy offer an incremental curriculum of comprehensive judicial education. Experienced Judges and other judicial professional present classes designed to help Constitutional County Judges carry out their judicial duties inprobate, criminal, juvenile, civil and mental cases, special DWI courts and understand the rules of evidence.
Judicial Education Credit
Each Spring and Fall Judicial Education session provides 16 hours of Judicial Education credit for Constitutional County Judges. Application is pending with the State Bar of Texas to determine the MCLE credit for attorneys.
Reimbursement
This program is partially funded by a Judicial and Court Personnel Training Fund Grant administered by the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals. Judges may be reimbursed for attendance at ONE Texas Judicial Academy session (Spring or Fall session, computer class, special video production class) or Texas Probate college session per fiscal year. This reimbursement will cover grant allowable transportation, meals and lodging.
