Overview
This workshop will discuss three critical elements of a successful safety program including analysis, education and training and accident investigation. The purpose of this program is to provide the participant with tools necessary to perform a comprehensive evaluation of data. We will also include a discussion of accident investigation techniques to identify cause factors, so corrective actions can be taken to prevent recurrence.
Objectives
Upon completion of this class the participants should be able to:

Recognize the most common injury trends in the TAC Risk Management Pool.

Perform a trend analysis using loss run data

Recognize adult styles of learning and methods of training

Develop a training plan, utilizing trends identified during the analysis process, for their organization

Conduct an accident investigation using a seven step process
-
Identify the importance of preserving evidence during an investigation
-
Learn effective techniques and guidelines for interviewing potential witnesses
-
Describe the current status of the Political Subdivision Workers’ Compensation Alliance (PSWCA) for employee care
-
Understand the process of nominating a doctor to the network Alliance
Desired Outcomes
Participants will use information in the workshop to enhance their safety program efforts.
