Presented by: Texas Association of Counties

Overview
The 82nd Texas legislative session will affect Texas counties directly and profoundly; the state's
budget crisis likely will affect whether the state will continue to fund its traditional share of
counties' existing obligations and provide funding for new obligations. The aim of the 2011 Post-Legislative
Conference is to inform county elected officials about what happened during the legislative session,
let county officials explore ways to continue to provide critical services with less assistance from
the state and share ideas about explaining to constituents how specific legislation will affect a county's ability to deliver services.
In addition to attending general sessions in which expert speakers and panels will provide a variety of perspectives on the session, you will have the opportunity to attend a meeting of your own specific association and participate in facilitated discussions about specific legislative issues.
Who Should Attend?
All elected and appointed county officials, supervisors and key staff. There are no prerequisites to attend this event.
Spouse Activities
Registration for spouses is $30 and provides admission to all conference programs, including Wednesday's opening evening reception and a special spouse event on Thursday.
