General Information

The County Court Assistants Training Conference presents an opportunity for the county judge’s staff to learn more about the management and operation of judicial and administrative procedures of the judge’s office.  Our goal is for each person to leave this conference better equipped to assist the county judge in his/her judicial and administrative duties.

This training event is funded by a grant from the Court of Criminal Appeals. The registration fee for this event is $100. Registration fees are voluntary. However, all registration fees collected are deposited back to the grant to be used for further education beyond that presently funded by the legislature.

Learning Outcomes
Those successfully completing this program will become acquainted with:

  • The importance of an emergency management plan and the issuance of emergency declarations;
  • How TAC can be of service to you, your judge and other elected officials;
  • How addiction to drugs and alcohol affects the litigants who come before your court;
  • What inherent dangers are lurking when you and your judge use social media sites;
  • The recent changes to probate and guardianship statutes;
  • How the maintenance of a county website affects records retention requirements;
  • What you need to know about essential needs (occupational) drivers licenses; and
  • How to comply with your county’s indigent defense plan.
