Report on Interim Charge Number 1 to the House Committee on County Affairs, 77th Legislature

"In January 2000, the County Affairs Committee of the Texas House of Representatives received an Interim Charge to 'review the cost of statutory county duties, including federal mandates, and the ability of county tax bases and fees to support such duties.' The Committee requested assistance from the Texas Association of Counties (TAC). TAC accepted and assigned the task to the County Information Project (CIP) due to the Project's data resources and existing financial data collection program."
