Rocky Mountain Land Use Institute Hosts Sustainability Development Seminar

The Rocky Mountain Land Use Institute (RMLUI), an interdisciplinary, non-partisan forum for land use and environmental issues, will host a planners training service in Austin in January 2010. Associated with the University of Denver, the RMLUI hosts the largest annual land use conference in the country.

While Texas counties’ ability to regulate development is limited compared to similar states, exploring issues of sustainability remains important for the successful development of infrastructure within our communities. And as many counties advocate for expanded authority over zoning and development, an understanding of sustainable principles and complementary land uses may prove useful moving forward.
