Overview
The Policy Analysis Group (PAG) was established in 1997 by the TAC Board of Directors as a leadership program for county officials who recognized the need for county position statements and policy matters to be debated and published in order to promote a clear understanding of county duties and responsibilities. The PAG meets under the direction and leadership of TAC's Legislative Director, Carey Boethel, whose charge to each PAG member is to take a fresh look at Texas county government and identify the ways this level of government can evolve and adapt in response to the changing needs of a growing state.
Mission Statement
PAG exists to study and make recommendations for the implementation of solutions to meet the challenges of the structure, quality and authority of local government(s) by:
- identifying problems and incubating cost effective and efficient solutions;
- suggesting changes to the Texas Constitution and existing statutes;
- being visionary agents of change; and
- combining all voices of local government(s)
