A Message from TAC President J.D. Johnson to county officials

County Government Week, April 6–12, 2008

Get ready to celebrate County Government Week on April 6 - 12 this year. The annual celebration of County Government Week gives us an excellent opportunity to tell our citizens about all the vital services that counties provide -- and that we provide those services at the lowest possible cost to our local taxpayers.

This year, we want to emphasize the need for counties to be treated as full-fledged partners of the state -- instead of being the stepchildren that the state uses to save itself money while dumping on our local taxpayers.

HERE is a sample resolution for the upcoming 2008 County Government Week, prepared by TAC staff. Feel free to use the wording of this resolution, or make changes to suit your local situation.
