Former Palo Pinto County Judge Mickey West submitted this photo, telling the story of how his neighbor Warren Pruitt — the brother of retired Terry County Attorney Dwayne Pruitt — began feeding the three starving fox pups several years ago. “These little pups started coming up the hill to our neighborhood on a regular basis looking for food. They eventually got into a regular feeding frenzy and would show up every evening before dark for their dinner meal, usually consisting of bread, cookies and a few leftovers out of the kitchen. … These three cuties are not tame and still live on the side of the mountain, probably in a small cave in the rocks, and will be (at Pruitt’s) again this evening for their dining pleasure.” The photo was taken by Pruitt’s son, Kevin.
