Friends of County Government Spotlight
Several state legislators have been nominated and recognized by county officials as Friends of County Government, a title
TAC bestows on legislators who have shown a commitment to protecting local control and stopping unfunded mandates.
“These legislators have proven themselves true friends of county government through their consistent support of issues
important to counties, including decision-making at the local level,” TAC Legislative Director Paul Sugg. “They understand
that property taxpayers benefit from local control, instead of the state imposing a one-size-fits all system on Texas’ 254
diverse counties.”
To honor the Friends of County Government, County will spotlight the different designated legislators in this issue and
upcoming issues.
