County Editor Maria Sprow came across this message while hiking with her
significant other and her dog along the Barton Creek Greenbelt in Travis
County one weekend in November. Who the message was for, when it
was created or what the answer was remains a mystery. “I go hiking along the
greenbelt almost weekly, but had never gone that way before,” Sprow said.
“With
the drought, maybe it’s become permanent signage? If the person who wrote it
doesn’t erase it, I don’t know why someone else would. ... though someone may
find themselves taking an unexpected trip to the courthouse one day for a marriage
certificate if they aren’t careful.”
