Texas County Clerks Share Spotlight at National Conference
Four Texas county clerks shared the spotlight at the recently concluded National Association of County Recorders, Election Officials and Clerks (NACRC) Annual Conference held in Nashville, Tennessee, July 23-26.
As President of NACRC, Harris County Clerk Beverly Kaufman ended her successful term leading the organization by presiding over the four-day gathering. Kaufman was also a panelist on a session titled Budgeting and Forecasting in Tough Economic Times.
In addition to participating on several panels, Tarrant County Clerk Suzanne Henderson presented the Public Official of the Year Award to Travis County Clerk Dana DeBeauvoir during the conference signature banquet. Henderson is past President of NACRC and NACO Representative
Also present at the national gathering of county officials was Comal County Clerk Joy Streater who served on the NACRC Board of Directors as Legislative Chair and was recently honored by the Texas Association of County and District Clerks as their County Clerk of the Year.
With approximately 750 members across the country, NACRC is the premier organization for election and other county officials charged with document recording and the conduct of elections. NACRC is an affiliate organization of the National Association of Counties (NACo).
