Employees and Counties Receiving Financial Rewards for Wellness Efforts
Rewards totaling more than $62,000 are now available to more than 1,560 county employees in 76 counties for taking steps to improve their health, courtesy of the TAC Health and Employee Benefits Program’s Healthy County initiative.
Next, county members of the TAC Pool will begin receiving corresponding payments to help finance future health and wellness efforts at the local level.
In the Healthy County program that began early this year, Wichita County experienced the highest employee participation – 132 Wichita staff members completed a health risk assessment and 85 completed PATH, a 10 week exercise program. Their participation levels exceed what you typically see in the market. Their employees were awarded $5,510 dollars in rewards.
The county is now eligible to obtain the same amount towards in-county programs that improve employee health.
Packets have been mailed to local wellness coordinators which:
explains the who, what, how and why’s of the employer rewards program
lists the amount each member county is eligible to receive this year, based on employee participation; and
Recommends how employer rewards might be used to promote and encourage a healthy and supportive work culture.
