9-10:40 a.m. Cyber Security/The Digital YOU - Human Risk Factors
Organizations must become pro-active, not reactive, in making staff and employees aware of the dangers of social media and technology use. Common sense is not common knowledge. Few employees actually know what information on their profile could lead to a breach or identity theft. Employees are not typically aware that they are the weakest link in an organization’s cyber security efforts. Studies show that training awareness programs lower the human risk factor. As the Ponemon and Proofpoint reports indicate, human actions are increasingly at the root of cybersecurity and social media issues. In this session, attendees will learn about: What is a data breach? What is the cause of 88% of data breaches? Can a data breach be prevented? What information is at risk? Over 51% of identity theft is traced back to employee error.
