Snow on the Capitol Grounds
Snow covered Austin on Valentine's Day 1895 as seen in this view looking south from the Texas Capitol. Snow is rare in Central Texas. Rarer still is snow with significant accumulation. But on Jan. 10, parts of Burnet, Lee, Milam, Travis and Williamson counties received from 2.5 to 6 inches of snow, giving residents a shared experience with these Central Texans from more than 125 years ago.
County officials and employees (and any other Texas resident) can submit a photo to be considered for Last Look. Email your high-resolution photo to Julie Chang.
