TAC’s Risk Management Services team has added a cybersecurity consultant — the first of its kind for Risk Management Pool (RMP) members — who brings boots-on-the-ground experience from the private and public sectors.
David Sandoval joined the Texas Association of Counties in February and will support RMP members in the areas of data privacy, information security, cyber liability coverage, privacy and security assessments, on-site training and phone support. He will assist RMP members during the claims process, as well as introduce county staff to the eRiskHub, an online portal with cyber and privacy resources for members.
Sandoval is slated to give presentations at TAC and affiliate conferences, including the County Treasurers’ Continuing Education Seminar and the Texas Association of Governmental Information Technology Managers conference, both in April.
“As our members’ cyber needs continue to evolve, so too does the risk pool, in its response to meet these needs and provide our members with the very best service, coverage and personnel,” said Robert Ruiz, Associate Director of Risk Management Services. “The addition of David Sandoval to our outstanding team of consultants will benefit both TAC RMP members and TAC immediately.”
Sandoval spent the bulk of his career in the U.S. Navy and has worked in cyber and privacy risk services for Deloitte, AT&T, TrustArc, USAA and the Texas Workforce Commission.
