Leadership 254 challenges, stretches and most importantly, transforms participants into leaders who can positively affect their counties and Texas.
Participants can expect to engage in the rudiments of self-examination to develop the personal awareness and growth needed to be an effective leader.
Participants will take part in mental and physical challenges by means of experiential exercises and activities. Some participants may find these exercises challenging, but accommodations can be made for participants to meet the objectives of each module. If you require special accommodations, please contact Haley Click at (800) 456-5974.
Participants will complete pre-module and post-module assignments throughout the program, individually, in teams and with an accountability partner.
Leadership 254 is a continuous program where students are required to attend and complete all four modules in sequence. It is important that participants plan to arrive at the start time of each module and stay through its conclusion.
Leadership 254 Cancellation Policy
Leadership 254 is designed for a limited group of participants. If a participant must cancel after being selected, they should submit their cancellation in writing to haleyc@county.org before Jan. 1, 2023. The TAC Leadership Development Committee will select a replacement who will be notified before the start of Module 1.
In-Depth Assessments Included in Leadership 254
Myers-Briggs Type Indicator ® (MBTI)
The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® assessment traces the patterns in behavior to one of 16 distinct personality types. It provides a framework for self-understanding and appreciating the differences in others. Strengths, tendencies, perspective, decision-making style, communication style — these are all components of personal nature. When a person really knows his or herself possibilities open — in their job, their relationships and their life. With MBTI® insights, participants will not only better understand and appreciate themselves, but also better understand and appreciate others. Participants will see themselves in a new light — learning their strengths and difficulties; how they think, feel and communicate; how they relate to others and how those people relate to them; and how to move ahead with their life.
Gallup's StrengthsFinders 2.0
StrengthsFinder is the Gallup Organization’s assessment tool that helps individuals and teams understand their unique talents and how to use their strengths effectively when working with others. The tool is grounded in decades of research based on two fundamental assumptions:
- Each person's talents are enduring and unique, and
- Each person's greatest room for growth is in the areas of his or her greatest strengths.
