TCEQ EnviroMentor Program Offers Free, Confidential Advice to Counties

Counties have access to free, confidential environmental compliance assistance through the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality’s (TCEQ) EnviroMentor program.

EnviroMentors are engineers, lawyers, water/wastewater operators and other professionals who do not work for the TCEQ. They volunteer their time to assist regulated entities who are committed to correcting compliance issues.

The assistance is free, confidential and geared toward local governments and small businesses who can’t afford to hire a consultant.

EnviroMentor matches are on a case-by-case basis and occur through TCEQ regional offices.

Find out more about the program on the TCEQ website at or watch a YouTube video.

Counties interested in participating should contact the TCEQ’s Small Business and Local Government Assistance hotline at (800) 447-2827.
