Legislation was recently passed requiring all Texas counties to have a website and make required postings to keep constituents informed of key information, which will go into effect January 1, 2020.

TAC CIRA provides websites to 157 counties for annual costs as low as $800. Counties can opt to create a custom design for a one-time set up fee of $3,995 plus possible additional design cost; annual fees vary. For $725 per year, counties can purchase the optional content management package which allows county employees to send TAC CIRA updates that should be made, and our support staff will complete them.

To obtain a TAC CIRA county website, please have your county’s commissioners’ court review and approve the TAC CIRA interlocal agreement, as well as our service agreement and return to us at support@cira.state.tx.us or by fax at (512) 479-1807.

Visit the TAC CIRA Resources & News page for more information on county websites, including information counties are legally required to post. Please note that recently passed legislation will affect these requirements, and will go into effect in the upcoming months. Watch for communications from TAC in the near future for more details.
