Regarding the posting of elected officer information, HB 305 requires a county to post each elected officer of the political subdivision, but makes no mention of contact information for those officers. SB 2, however, contains provisions that do require the posting of contact information for certain officers. Officials may want to consult their county attorney to determine how to comply with these posting requirements while considering any potential cybersecurity risks. For instance, TAC CIRA generally recommends utilizing contact forms instead of email addresses, when possible, in order to help prevent SPAM emails from reaching counties.
