The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has verified 216 counties will be eligible to access $250 million in the County Transportation Infrastructure Fund (CTIF) grant program. The next steps in the program include determining the new funding distribution based on the final number of applicants and counties executing a grant agreement with TxDOT.

A letter from TxDOT was sent to county judges on June 24 noting the total eligible grant funding available based on the Transportation Code formula and information regarding the grant agreement. Before receiving any allowable reimbursements from the eligible grant amount, your county must enter into an agreement with TxDOT. TAC advises against spending any funds expecting reimbursement for the program until the agreement is accepted. All necessary program documents and instructions are on the CTIF website.  It is important to note, all funds must be used by June 24, 2025.

For questions about the CTIF grant program, please refer to the TxDOT district contact list. Feel free to also reach out to Rick Thompson for more information.
