The Unfunded Mandates Survey deadline has been extended to Dec. 20! Yes, Dec. 20 is a Sunday, and yes, it is the last Sunday before Christmas. But, largely due to the COVID-19 pandemic, by the end of October we had received only a limited number of responses for the survey, so we have extended the due date as much as we could to enable as many counties as possible to participate.
To let everyone know about the deadline extension, the survey company, previously known as SurveyGizmo, forwarded an email from TAC on Nov. 2 to the counties that had not completed the survey. Each email included a link to the county’s survey form. Nov. 2 is also the date we found out that SurveyGizmo had changed its name to Alchemer. Though TAC had been notified in advance that the company planned to change its name, we were not told what the new name would be.
Because of the name change, it is likely that spam filters caught many of the emails announcing the extension. County auditors and county treasurers who cannot locate the email, or anyone who has questions about the survey, should contact Tim Brown at timb@county.org.
