The Judicial Commission on Mental Health has issued its 2020 Legislative Recommendations and Report. Recommendations important to counties include procedures related to mental health used by law enforcement, health care workers and courts; competency restoration; and technology solutions for emergency detention warrants.

The Judicial Commission on Mental Health has issued its 2020 Legislative Recommendations and Report included here as Attachment A. Recommendations important to counties include procedures related to mental health used by law enforcement, health care workers and courts; competency restoration; and technology solutions for emergency detention warrants.

The Supreme Court of Texas and the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals created the Judicial Commission on Mental Health to study and make recommendations to improve or refine laws and rules related to mental health and intellectual and developmental disabilities.
