April is National County Government Month. Since 1991, the National Association of Counties (NACO) has encouraged counties nationwide to promote the services and programs they offer during this annual celebration.

While NACO speaks for counties nationwide to Congress, TAC is the voice for all 254 Texas counties to the Texas Legislature. “As the Texas Legislature nears the end of its legislative session, now is the perfect time to raise public awareness and understanding of the important work you do to serve all Texans,” said TAC Executive Director Susan M. Redford.

Inspiration Next Week

County officials and staff can gain inspiration and tools to help them share how Texas counties deliver by visiting TAC’s display for County Government Week, April 26-30, at the Texas Capitol in Austin. If you’re around the Capitol complex next week, be sure to check it out.
