Request for Attorney General Opinion

RQ-0465-KP: Hockley County Attorney, Levelland. Whether an individual convicted of a felony in another state whose "rights of citizenship" have been restored by the other state is eligible to run for office in Texas under Election Code section 141.001.

RQ-0466-KP: Chair, Committee on Veterans Affairs & Border Security, Texas State Senate, Austin. Whether a corporate entity can serve as a substitute trustee for purposes of conducting a mortgage foreclosure sale under Property Code chapter 51.

RQ-0467-KP: Victoria County Criminal District Attorney, Victoria. Authority of a water control and improvement district to use surplus funds from its interest and sinking fund.

RQ-0468-KP: Chair, House Committee on General Investigating, Texas House of Representatives, Austin. Whether a county's reimbursement of taxes under certain agreements constitute a grant of public money within the scope of Local Government Code subsection 381.004(h).
