County election officials spent the past several months getting ready for the Nov. 8 general election, which is now underway with the start of early voting on Oct. 24. They have worked hard to put the election's complicated, moving pieces into place, and they have done so under a degree of scrutiny – and threats in some cases – not seen in decades.
The Texas Association of Counties' podcast, Texas County Voice, has focused recent episodes on the essential role counties play in running our elections. In one, Texas Secretary of State John Scott, the state's chief election officer, talks about the challenges county election officials and his office have faced since 2020. In another, Cameron County Elections Administrator Remi Garza, Hays County Elections Administrator Jennifer Doinoff and Sherman County District and County Clerk Laura Rogers offer listeners a look at what it takes to make sure your vote counts.
Texas County Voice covers the people, issues and all things important to Texans and Texas counties. Listen to all episodes here.
