The Texas Historical Commission (THC) is seeking input from county judges and commissioners about its Texas Historic Courthouse Preservation Program (THCPP).

Officials are encouraged to complete this 5- to 10-minute survey by Wednesday, May 9. All feedback is welcome, even from counties who have never applied for or received a grant.

The Courthouse Advisory Committee will consider survey results received by May 9, but the survey will remain open until Friday, May 25. The recently formed committee includes county judges, facilities managers and preservation professionals.

Approaching the program’s 20-year anniversary, the THC is re-evaluating the THCPP’s project selection, funding priorities, scoring and award process.

The THC has provided THCPP grants totaling almost $300 million to over 90 Texas counties toward the preservation of their historic courthouses.

If you would like additional information about the program, please visit the THCPP website. Reach courthouse program staff at (512) 463-6094.
