Treasurers Hold Spring Education Seminar
County Treasurers from across the state met April 18-21 in San Marcos for their 50th Annual Spring Education Seminar. Activities began Monday, April 18, with a charitable fun walk through Discovery Park, with around 25 participants enjoying the sunny weather.
County Treasurers’ Association President Jennifer Henderson of Schleicher County opened the conference the next morning.
County Treasurers’ Association President and Schleicher County Treasurer Jennifer Henderson welcomes conference participants.
She encouraged everyone to network and take advantage of all of the seminar’s sessions because after their first year in office, Treasurers must complete at least 20 hours of continuing education in each 12-month period. Sessions included legislative and American Rescue Plan updates, reviews of personnel policies and discussions of a Treasurer’s audit, financial and investment responsibilities.
The County Treasurers’ Association will meet again in September in Waco for its annual statewide conference.
