Broadband Development Office Schedules Stops on Statewide Listening Tour
The Texas Broadband Development Office (BDO), which is tasked with developing the state's first comprehensive broadband plan to help close the digital divide in Texas, has opened registration for the first few stops on a planned listening tour across the state.
The BDO is located within the comptroller's office. In March and April, Comptroller Glenn Hegar will hold 12 public forums across the state to hear from Texans about their internet access. The first forum will be in Prairie View on Tuesday, March 1, from 2 to 3 p.m. Register for Tuesday’s event here.
Registration is also currently open for a March 7 forum in Victoria and a March 10 forum in Austin. Future stops are planned in Abilene, Amarillo, Beaumont, the Dallas-Fort Worth area, Edinburg, El Paso, San Angelo, Tyler and Waco. Visit the BDO's webpage for more information about broadband in Texas and the listening tour.
