The Judicial Commission on Mental Health (JCMH) unveiled a new tool for counties to use in their efforts to implement new mental health programs or augment existing programs. The tool, known as the "County Innovations in Mental Health Map," may be found here. The map highlights the efforts of courts around the state to fight their local mental health challenges by implementing new programs or innovatively using existing local programs. The map allows counties to see what is being done around the state so that they may replicate any strategy they find useful.

The map can be used by judges; attorneys; community supervision officers; law enforcement; local mental health, behavioral health and intellectual and developmental disabilities authorities; partner agencies; other stakeholders; and the general public. JCMH intends to partner with representatives from each county to use the map to build a structure of support for mental health challenges. County representatives will assist with maintaining up-to-date information and will be the point of contact for the program manager.

Access to the county representative side of the portal may be requested by emailing JCMH@txcourts.gov and informing them that you are interested in becoming a county representative responsible for adding information about your community’s local programs.
