Counties at the Capitol Legislative Day Set for Feb. 7; TAC Legislative Services Announces Staff Update
Mark your calendar and make plans to come to Austin.
Shortly after the Texas Legislature convenes, county officials will gather in Austin for TAC’s Counties at the Capitol day. The event will get attendees up to speed on the most significant issues facing county government in the 88th legislative session. The day-long program offers ample opportunity for county officials to connect with their legislators and their staffs.

Tuesday Morning Breakfast
Grab a hot breakfast and get prepped by TAC’s legislative staff on the most significant issues counties and county officials face during the 88th legislative session and discuss your concerns and priorities.

Hear from key legislators and others who will provide an overview of the 88th legislative session. Learn more about the big issues and how you can get involved.
Tuesday Afternoon Texas Capitol Building
Meetings with Legislators
Make sure to schedule appointments with your legislators and their staffs in advance so that you can meet with them during the afternoon regarding issues of importance to you and your county. This will be an individual activity.

Legislative Reception
Personally invite your legislators to the TAC Legislative Reception being held at the Texas Association of Counties building. This informal event will provide you with an opportunity to engage with your legislators and their staffs in a relaxed atmosphere, as well as network with legislators from across the state. Please be sure to invite your legislator even if you are unable to attend.
TAC Legislative Services has updated its contact page to reflect recent changes. Katy Estrada is now serving as liaison to the County Judges and Commissioners Association of Texas. Caroline Love takes over as the liaison for the Tax Assessor-Collectors’ Association. Megan Molleur will continue working on federal issues and will also serve as liaison to the Texas District & County Attorneys Association.
