JOB TITLE: BI Report Developer
JOB DUTIES: Full-time role. Responsible for designing, creating, maintaining and implementing business intelligence tools and reports which convert business intelligence data into actionable information for internal and external stakeholders. Will be primarily focused on the following duties:
- Design and develop business intelligence tools. This includes: (a) Determine types of reports that are most useful for the business function: pixel-perfect reporting, interactive dashboards, etc. with an emphasis on mobile technology and presentation. (b) Develop functional, responsive applications and user interfaces based on mockups, wireframes, design artifacts and technical requirements to support employer's business needs. (c) Closely work with Data Warehouse Architect and ETL developer to ensure reporting solutions efficiently and properly receive data from data repositories.
- Create standardized and individualized reports relating to key business metrics in a manner that is readily accessible to all key stakeholders.
- Continuously update business intelligence tools. This includes: (a) Ensure alignment of business processes with information technology systems and manage the flow of data and information between the originating data sources and the data repositories. (b) Conduct software quality tests to ensure data integrity is maintained throughout the presentation layer down to the individual reports. (c) Follow employer Information Technology (IT) change management process in coordination with the IT Operations and Security teams. (d) Assist with maintenance of business intelligence platforms through installation, upgrades, patching, etc. This includes ensuring that problems with the platforms are resolved through assistance of the vendor or related parties where support agreements may exist.
- Support and maintain the business intelligence library catalog associated with employer’s agreed-upon business intelligence product.
- Provide technical support. This includes: (a) Investigate issues and data anomalies with employer source systems, communicating with end users as to specific problems and facilitating discussion with peers as needed to resolve issues. (b) Share information relating to business intelligence tool upgrades or changes.
May work remotely 2 days per week.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, mathematics, computer and information management or related area required (or foreign equivalent) and 2 years of experience in business intelligence analyst position or any related occupation in which required experience was gained.
Professional experience must include:
- Experience working with database management system software, including relational database systems.
- Experience working with database user interface and query software, including experience with SQL scripting.
- Experience developing standardized business intelligence reporting processes and formats by using programming languages, including SQL.
- Experience working with business intelligence and data analysis software, including enterprise-level business intelligence platform and reporting tools.
- Experience retrieving and/or reporting data from enterprise Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
- Experience retrieving and/or reporting data from enterprise ERP systems.
- Experience communicating with stakeholders from cross-functional teams to understand user data needs.
- Experience working with data warehouse concepts and testing software.
JOB LOCATION: 1210 San Antonio Street, Austin, Texas 78701. May work remotely 2 days per week.
