On Oct. 14, Hood County Treasurer Leigh Ann McCoy, who serves as the First Vice President and Legislative Chair for the County Treasurers’ Association of Texas (CTAT), was honored for outstanding public service. The award was presented by former state Sen. Brian Birdwell and Dallas County Treasurer and CTAT President Pauline Medrano.

McCoy’s unwavering dedication and exceptional financial stewardship have made a significant impact on the residents of Hood County, and her work has been highly praised. During the ceremony, she graciously accepted her well-deserved accolade and credited the support she has received from CTAT, Hood County commissioners and the community.

On Nov. 20, U.S. Rep. Julie Johnson (D-Farmers Branch) recognized Medrano in the U.S. House of Representatives for her service as Dallas County Treasurer and leadership as CTAT President; see archived video from C-SPAN’s coverage here.

As CTAT President, Medrano has championed the theme “Connecting Deeply and Leading Boldy” by reaching out to elected officials across Dallas County and working within CTAT to ensure that local and state elected officials understand the complex and vital role county treasurers play in county government.
