County Treasurers Gather for Annual Seminar
On April 23, the County Treasurers’ Association of Texas (CTAT) concluded its 54th Annual Continuing Education Seminar in San Marcos.
The conference featured educational seminars on investments, leadership, legislative updates and human resources, all focused on providing pertinent information and relevant updates to assist treasurers in performing their official duties. A highlight was a presentation from Sen. Judith Zaffirini (D-Laredo), Texas’ longest-serving senator, who shared tips for working with the Legislature.
During Wednesday’s luncheon, CTAT announced nominees for the Outstanding County Treasurer of the Year: Brooke Graves (Potter County), Darla Welch (Yoakum County), Vikki Calloway (Glasscock County), Elsa Colmenero (Hudspeth County), Tammy Brown (Shackelford County), Leigh Ann McCoy (Hood County), Karrie Crownover (Burnet County), Elizabeth Tovar (Zavala County), Brittni Turner (Hunt County), Leann Monk (Tyler County), Lyndy Krause (Lee County) and Bill Rickert (Fort Bend County).
We proudly recognize the leadership and contributions of each nominee.
Crownover, McCoy and Monk were announced as finalists. The recipient of the Outstanding County Treasurer of the Year award will be named at CTAT’s annual conference in September.
Five scholarship recipients were recognized at the luncheon as well.
