    Technology can enhance your ability to execute civil process effectively and efficiently. This class will cover many ways you can make use of technology, including using drones for various purposes, finding/serving people via electronic means, conducting virtual sales, etc.

    Enforcing court orders means coming into contact with stressed individuals whose reactions may pose a risk to the officer, the public or themselves, and some writs can pose a higher risk than others. This class will discuss these high risk writs and address best practices for identifying and addressing risks.

This course explores the historical and modern roles of JPs and constables as accessible, trusted figures maintaining order and offering justice. Participants will gain practical strategies for building community trust, communicating clearly, and upholding the tradition of local, responsive justice.

    Participants will learn about the concept of “masking” relative to CDL/CMV drivers. Participants will also learn about the federal and Texas state laws to avoid masking situations and about legal dilemmas if a CDL suspension occurs.

    Nobody’s perfect. Everyone has gotten themselves into a pickle from time to time. This course will be a discussion about avoiding common mistakes and the best practices once a mistake has been made, as well as discussion about complicated yet common situations that occur during service of various types of civil process.

    During the execution of writs, constables are frequently the first to hear that a judgment creditor is claiming property is exempt. This course will cover the rules related to exempt property.
