The Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC) program provides federal funding—boosted by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA)—to help states, local governments, and Tribes strengthen infrastructure against natural hazards.

Moving away from reactive disaster spending, BRIC prioritizes proactive construction projects that offer measurable risk reduction for vulnerable communities. This cycle specifically emphasizes the adoption and enforcement of modern building codes and focuses capacity-building efforts strictly on infrastructure resilience.
