Juvenile Justice and Youth Diversion Grant Program (FY2027)
The Juvenile Justice and Youth Diversion Grant Program (FY2027), administered by the Texas Office of the Governor’s Public Safety Office (PSO), provides funding for projects designed to prevent juvenile delinquency and divert youth from the formal justice system. Eligible applicants—including units of local government, non-profit organizations, and Native American tribes—can utilize funds for a variety of services such as mental health treatment, mentoring, family strengthening, and specialized programs for "at-risk" youth or those with mental health and substance abuse needs. A central requirement is that all funded projects must be evidence-based or a "promising practice," and those serving current or former foster youth must adhere to the Child Sex Trafficking Team (CSTT) Guiding Principles.
