Operation Lone Star Grant Program (OLS), FY2027

The Operation Lone Star (OLS) Grant Program (FY2027), administered by the Texas Office of the Governor’s Public Safety Office (PSO), provides funding to enhance interagency border security operations aimed at deterring and interdicting criminal activity. Eligible applicants include counties and municipalities located in counties that have issued a border security-related disaster declaration and are included in the Governor's Border Security Disaster Declaration proclamation. The program supports five key areas: law enforcement, jail operations, human remains processing, court administration, and fire/EMS operations. A significant restriction for this cycle is that regular or straight-time personnel positions will only be considered for funding if they were previously funded through the FY2026 OLS grant program.
