    Rural Texas Strong – Initiative 6

    The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) has opened applications for Initiative 6: Infrastructure and Capital Investments for Rural Texas. This initiative is part of the federally funded Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP), a $281 million project aimed at strengthening healthcare delivery in rural communities.

    New applicants must create an IAMOnline account to access the portal.

    Eligibility
    This grant is open to a broad range of rural service providers, including:

    • Healthcare Facilities: Rural hospitals and health clinics.
    • Specialized Care: Behavioral health providers, opioid/substance use disorder programs, and pharmacies.
    • Emergency & Public Health: EMS providers and public health offices.

    This is a competitive process. HHSC has indicated that further funding opportunities under the Rural Texas Strong umbrella will be announced periodically. Organizations are encouraged to monitor the HHSC webpage for subsequent initiatives.
