Texas Middle Mile Grant Program
The BDO has allocated up to $200 million from the state’s Broadband Infrastructure Fund (BIF) to fund projects for the construction and improvement of middle-mile infrastructure across Texas. The program aims to strengthen network resiliency, support open-access networks to increase affordability for end users, and improve high-speed internet access by reducing the cost of connecting areas that are unserved or underserved to the internet backbone.
In addition to these core objectives, the TMM Program will incentivize projects to include infrastructure enhancements that will directly support or integrate with flood detection and monitoring systems in vulnerable areas.
The TMM Program Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) was published on the Electronic State Business Daily within Texas SmartBuy. Applications are due no later than Nov. 20 at 2 p.m. CT.
After reviewing the NOFA, interested parties will have until Sept. 5 at 2 p.m. to submit questions and request clarifying information about the solicitation. The BDO will provide timely responses and may update the solicitation through the addendum process. All questions about the NOFA must be submitted to bdo.nofa@cpa.texas.gov before the deadline.
