Texas Natural Gas Vehicle Grant Program (TNGVGP)

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) funds the replacement or repower of medium- and heavy-duty vehicles with natural gas engines, as part of the Texas Emissions Reduction Plan (TERP). Eligible fuels are compressed natural gas (CNG), liquefied natural gas (LNG), and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).

Eligible applicants are individuals and entities operating an on-road heavy- or medium-duty vehicle registered in Texas — counties with fleet vehicles qualify. Two project types are funded: replacement of a gasoline or diesel vehicle with a natural gas vehicle, and repower, which swaps the existing engine for a qualifying natural gas engine or installs an approved conversion system.
