The Violence Against Women Justice and Training Program (FY2027)
The Violence Against Women Justice and Training Program (FY2027), funded under the federal Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), supports projects that improve the criminal justice system's response to domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking. Eligible applicants—including state agencies, local governments, non-profits, and Native American tribes—can use funds for specialized law enforcement units, prosecutor training, and data systems to track protection orders and arrests. Notably, non-profits seeking to provide direct victim services are ineligible for this specific grant and must instead apply under the General Victim Assistance Program. The program requires a 30% cost-sharing match, though victim service providers and Native American tribes are exempt from this requirement.
