    County officials preparing for the next legislative session can connect and share insights at the Texas Association of Counties’ 2026 Legislative Conference, Aug. 26-28 in Austin.

    The conference brings together county leaders, legislators and policy specialists ahead of the 90th Texas Legislature, which convenes Jan. 12, 2027. With in-person and virtual options, attendees will gain practical guidance on key issues facing counties.

    The opening general session features keynote speaker S.C. Gwynne, a New York Times bestselling author and journalist best known for his 2010 history of the Comanche, “Empire of the Summer Moon.” Gwynne will share strategies to help county leaders craft compelling messages and connect more effectively with constituents and legislators.

    Additional speakers and sessions will be announced soon.

    Registration is $275 in person and $200 virtual. Early registration discounts end Aug. 6.
