Final Day to Complete TAC's 2026 Salary Survey
May 1 is the deadline for county submission of data for the Texas Association of Counties’ 2026 Salary Survey. We are pleased to report that over half of Texas’ 254 counties have completed the survey. If your county is not yet among them, we hope you will soon join them so that we can produce the most comprehensive survey possible to benefit all counties.
If you need access to the survey form, are in the process of completing the survey and do not expect to meet the deadline, or if your county is unable to participate this year, please write to SalarySurvey@county.org.
We are here to support you and always available to answer any questions you may have about the survey.
Below are answers to some of the most common questions we’ve received about the survey:
From which date should we report salaries, supplements and allowances? Amounts reported should be current as of the start of your fiscal year. It is not necessary to reflect changes that occurred after the beginning of the fiscal year.
Do salary supplements include longevity pay? Yes. For shared titles, report the highest and lowest numbers among the officials.
What if a vehicle is furnished for one official but not for others in the same role? Check yes if a vehicle is furnished for any one of your officials.
Do we report the population of our county? No. We are using population information provided by the State Demographic Center for projected county populations as of 2025.
