Google has set Sept. 30, as the deadline for Fitbit users to re-authenticate their accounts with Health County. After that date, new Fitbit data will stop syncing for anyone who has not completed the process. The good news is that historical data will remain available—only future syncing will be affected. 

Users who re-authenticate after the deadline will have syncing restored. At this time, users who have not reauthenticated their account can do so through WebMD ONE Device Connection tool by selecting “Reconnect Your Account” found in the header message.  

The process is simple: Once you navigate and log into WebMD One, clicking Continue will disconnect the current Fitbit link and open Google sign-in. Users should sign in with the Google account connected to their Fitbit device to complete re-authentication. Once connected to the Google Health API, the Fitbit-related header message in the Device App Connection Center will no longer appear.

Please note the following: 

• Historical data will not be posted 
• Only new data syncing will stop after the cutoff 
• Once users re-authenticate after the deadline, data syncing will resume 
• Users cannot begin re-authenticating yet 

To re-authenticate, users should go to the Device App Connection Center and select Reconnect Your Account. 


From the Device App Connection Center click [Reconnect your account] link from the header text: 



Click Continue: The system will auto-disconnect the current Fitbit connection and open the Google sign-in. Participant then signs into to the Google Account associated with their Fitbit device and re-authentication complete, data syncing resumes. Please note after successful connection to the Google Health API, the email and content for Fitbit users on the Device App Connection Center header will no longer display to the user. 



A few additional notes:  

• Users do not need a new app or a new account 
• They only need an existing Google account 
• If they do not already have a Google account, they will need to create one 

WebMD ONE is sending email reminders to all users who have not re-authenticated.

*Retirees are not eligible for the WebMD ONE program. All TAC HEBP employees and their covered spouses are eligible for the program.
