“I’ve been hearing some gossip around town that there’s going to be a new place to play bingo. When is the county supposed to be notified that it’s official? We can’t operate on gossip.

When must the county be notified of a new bingo license holder?

The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation must notify the sheriff within 10 days of issuing a bingo license if bingo will be conducted in the county outside the boundaries of a municipality. The department must also send a copy of the license to the commissioners court, which must keep the licenses in a central file. This requirement does not apply to temporary licenses issued to holders of a regular license.
